Welcome to the National Mesothelioma Foundation

This year, thousands of Americans will learn that they have a rare cancer known as mesothelioma caused by their exposure to asbestos. Often their exposure occurred while they worked to build and protect this nation in factories, foundries, shipyards, or aboard Naval or maritime vessels. The National Mesothelioma Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting mesothelioma patients and their families by

• Providing information to patients from time of diagnosis
• Offering patients and their families help with travel and lodging arrangements as well as access to spirtual and emotional support
• Working with an interdisciplinary group of cancer specialists at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center

The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is the number one ranked cancer treatment center in the United States. Dr. W. Roy Smythe, the director of Multidisciplinary Mesothelioma Treatment Program at M.D. Anderson, is treating mesothelioma as a potentially curable disease.
